Kimberly Connaghan: VP, Global Travel Partnerships, National Geographic

“National Geographic has a long-standing commitment to preserving places and cultures through sustainable tourism. We are pleased to sponsor CTO’s upcoming Climate Smart Forum in St. Kitts, that will tackle many of the important tourism issues destinations face today. We are also thrilled to announce that National Geographic Traveler contributing editor, Andrew McCarthy, will be the keynote speaker discussing the power of travel to transform lives at this important industry event.”

FORUM ANCHOR: Deirdre Shurland: Chief Steward, DestiSist Consulting

“As the region’s most existential threat, climate change poses risks that are both debilitating and destabilizing. The Climate Smart Sustainable Tourism Forum is a show of leadership from tourism decision-makers, businesses and civil society, who will agree on the smart actions that will ensure our resilience and resolve to combat climate risk.”

Diannille Taylor-Williams: Assistant Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, St. Kitts

“I see the Climate Smart Sustainable Tourism Forum as a celebration highlighting all of our achievements thus far for the International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development, and also as reminder that sustainability is not a destination but rather, a journey.”
