General Session IV – Risk Management for Sustainable Tourism

General Session IV – Risk Management for Sustainable Tourism

One of the main concerns for travelers is the safety and security of their person and property while travelling abroad. Our breathtaking beauty is the cornerstone of the Caribbean tourism product, however, we are also faced with diverse challenges, which require innovative, well-defined, and coordinated efforts to mitigate and manage risk.

This session will explore regional initiatives and present risk minimising strategies which can help the industry be better prepared to handle crisis, including the technologically driven Regional Tourism-Health Information, Monitoring and Response Systems, Tourism and Biodiversity Linkages, Disaster Risk Management for Tourism Best Practices and Catastrophe Risk Insurance.
