Dr. Roché Mahon
Dr. Roché Mahon is a Social Scientist contributing to the work of the newly designated World Meteorological Organization (WMO) Regional Climate Centre (RCC) for the Caribbean hosted at the Caribbean Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology (CIMH).
In this role, she serves among a regional team of climatologists, meteorologists and hydrologists designing, developing and delivering climate products and services to six climate sensitive sectors in 16 Caribbean countries. A core focus of that work is establishing an Early Warning Information System across Climate Timescales (EWISACTs) for Caribbean tourism.
“The CIMH welcomes the opportunity to showcase our suite of already available climate early warning information products at the Climate Smart Sustainable Tourism Forum. We particularly look forward to engaging with tourism stakeholders to help them understand how they can use one of our newest tools – the Caribbean Tourism Climatic Bulletin – to identify and prepare for favourable or inclement climate conditions in the Caribbean and source markets, before they occur.”
