Having spent more than 15 years working for the BBC Gregory is one of the most creative and dynamic senior broadcast journalists and presenters within the corporation. When he arrived at the corporation a long long time ago he became the youngest black senior broadcast journalist in the corporation’s history. Gregory has gone on to work on many Radio and TV including BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 1Xtra, BBC World News, BBC Breakfast, BBC London TV News , The One Show and The Victoria Derbyshire show.
For the last four years he has been directing, producing and reporting on content for the BBC’s flagship Travel Show which is broadcast to more than 300 Million viewers a week, and has travelled to more than 30 destinations across the world in this role. Greg (as he is affectionately known) has also picked up a few awards along the way.
According to Gregory “In this day and age it pays to be multi skilled so I’m not only a broadcaster and travel journalist but I’m also a confident TV producer and director. This is in addition to being a professional TV and Film actor. My advice to anyone is anything is possible you’ve just got to work for it. Persistence is key!”
As a special bonus, the Climate Smart Sustainable Tourism Forum will feature a Tourism Recovery Round Table which will be co-hosted by Greg and his twin brother Mike McKenzie. The brothers with their combined expertise in television production and broadcasting will present on the topic “How to get international TV coverage on your destination”.
Mike McKenzie is a BBC Arts and Entertainment Producer and has been for the last 10 years. Mike has also worked for BBC in New York and BBC News and also produces content on BBC Travel Show.
