Dr. Guido Marcelle is retired and is now a practicing natural farmer/ environmentalist and instructor in farming and sustainable agriculture, science, innovation, medicinal plants and spices, and product development, particularly to youths and women. He worked with the Government of Grenada for years as Chief Analytical Chemist and Head of the Grenada Produce Chemist Laboratory with analytical and managerial responsibilities in the areas of Foods, Food Technology, Forensic drugs, and Pesticides among others.

He is a graduate of the University of the West Indies, Trinidad, with a BSc.  (Botany, Chemistry), MSc. (Chemistry) and from the University of Illinois, U S A, Ph.D. ( Pharmacognosy ) and has published papers in the areas of Chemistry, Pharmacognosy, and Botany as well as authored three books and co-authored Caribbean Spice Island Plants and has done a variety of presentations locally, regionally and internationally.

He served on numerous Boards and Councils in Grenada and was chairman of the Grenada Bureau of Standards, Pesticide Control Board, Pharmacy Council, T. A . Marryshow Community College (TAMCC) Board of Directors, NAWASA and President of Communal Co-operative Credit Union.

Additionally, he gave part-time lectures at TAMCC in Pharmaceutical Science and visiting lectures at ST. George’s University (SGU) and was a consultant for FAO and CROSQ projects and assisted ministries, institutions, groups, and individuals with a wide range of projects especially in rural communities. He also served by assisting in judging local and regional science fairs, athletic meets, and coaching cricket.

He is a permaculture designer, HACCP auditor, product developer, member of TRAMIL (Programme of Applied Research to Popular Medicines in the Caribbean) and Institute of Food Technologists (IFT), reviewer of scientific papers for journals, research director of Grenada Organic Agriculture Movement (GOAM) and is fascinated by humor in politics (old mass designer).

He is also Chairman Traditional and Individual Mas Band Association (TIMBA) and has developed and designed his own Eco garden (Dr. G’s Garden Grenada).
