Biography

Ellsworth is the Director of Energy in St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) and brings to the unit over nineteen years’ experience within the field of energy. He has strong project delivery experience in energy risk management, business planning and evaluation, negotiation of funding agreement and electrical audits. He has a wide background in implementing energy policy and procedures within the governmental and public sectors, spearheading funding negotiations for energy projects and collaborating with regional and international institutions to implement such projects. Ellsworth has been actively involved in negotiating a major geothermal energy project that will transform energy source in St. Vincent, to provide maximum strategic value and efficiency for both consumers and the government. Ellsworth is the Project Director of St.Vincent Geothermal Project and has spearheaded the Geothermal project negotiations and contractual arrangements with guidance from the Clinton Foundation on behalf of the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines and has been instrumental in obtaining  USD 26M grants and contingent loans from various institutions. Such funding will significantly aid in the energy tariff reduction for St.Vincent and the Grenadines. Ellsworth’s goal is to transform the energy mix in St. Vincent and the Grenadines thus making 75% renewable by 2018.

Ellsworth holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alabama and Masters in Business Administration with a focus on Project Management from the University of the West Indies.
