Biography

Mr. Lennox Andrews hails from the parish of St. Andrews and is known as an Economist, Educator and Community Activist. He is committed to use his knowledge and experience to realize economic transformation through industry in the tri-island State of Grenada.

Mr. Andrews holds a degree in National Economic Planning from Universidad de Camaguey Cuba where he studied from 1980-1985. He furthered his studies at the Master’s Degree level at the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus (Trinidad) in the field of Development Economics from 1990-1996. His thesis was on the Public Sector Investment Programme (PSIP). His educational background made him proficient in the areas of Strategic Planning, Development Economics and Service related industries.

Mr. Andrews began his public service career as Country Economist for Grenada and Montserrat at the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank. Later in his career, he was appointed to the Ministry of Finance Grenada where he served as Deputy Permanent Secretary managing the function of economic development and planning.

Mr. Andrews served as Permanent Secretary for Finance from October 2006 to December 2008. One of his main results during that time was the establishment of Grenada Authority for the Regulation of Financial Institutions (GARFIN).

Mr. Andrews was appointed as General Manager of Communal Credit Union from October 2009 and the River Sallee Cooperative Credit Union.
Additionally, Mr. Andrews served as a Lecturer at St. George’s University and a consultant for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). Mr. Andrews is the author of five (5) books.

Mr. Andrews enjoys reading and cricket. He is married and has two sons and two daughters.
