Deputy Managing Director, Blue Horizons Garden Resort, President - Grenada Hotel & Tourism Assoc.

Biography

Kendra is Deputy Managing Director for Blue Horizons Garden Resort in Grenada, a family-owned property with a long-standing commitment to embracing sustainable practices into their resort operations.

Kendra was raised in Grenada and is the third generation of a local family which has set the bar high as pioneers in the Grenadian hospitality industry.  With the support of her father, Arnold, and uncle, the late Sir Royston, she was schooled from an early age into all aspects of ‘responsible tourism’.  Her academic training extended to a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Western Ontario, a marketing degree from George Brown College and food and beverage management certification from Cornell University.

Throughout her travels and work experiences, she honed and developed hospitality skills and operations, working abroad with the InterContinental Hotel and Hyatt.  She returned to Grenada in 2011 as Assistant Manager of the Green Globe Platinum certified, Blue Horizons Garden Resort.  Drawing upon special training and resources provided by Green Globe, CHTA’s CAST, and others, she and the Blue Horizons team conducted detailed assessments of their sustainability practices and embarked on an ongoing program of improvements.

Continuing in the tradition of service by her family to the responsible development of tourism in Grenada, she joined the Board of Directors for the Grenada Hotel and Tourism Association and in 2022 was elected as President.
