Biography

Maxine Welsh is the Director of The Nature Conservancy (TNC’s) Eastern Caribbean Division.

A Grenadian and an alum of the University of the West Indies Cave Hill Campus and the IHE Delft Institute for Water Education, she is an Ecologist and Water Resource Management and Governance specialist who has worked with international organisations such as GIZ GmbH, UNDP, and RTI International in the areas of environmental sustainability, ecosystem restoration and conservation, coastal zone management, water resource management, climate action, and energy efficiency.

With experience in Project Development and Management, Maxine has supported Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) revisions and NDC implementation activities, and sustainable agriculture actions within the Caribbean, while also supporting youth and community involvement in natural resource management and conservation practices.
