Biography

Sharon Banfield-Bovell has been passionately contributing to the development of Tourism and Human Capital in the Caribbean region for more than 20 years. She is a Tourism Professional – specializing in the areas of Tourism Planning, Policy Formulation, Human Capital Development, Tourism Product Development and Strategic Planning.

Sharon is the Director of Resource Mobilization and Development at the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) and prior to taking up that post, she served the organization in the capacity of Regional Human Resources Development Consultant. She is currently responsible for directing, overseeing and guiding the resource mobilization, tourism product development and human resources functions and activities of the CTO.

Sharon, who holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in in Languages: French & Spanish, from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus and a Master of Science degree in Tourism Planning & Development from the University of Surrey, United Kingdom, is regarded by her peers as a Barbadian with a true zeal for regional sustainable development.
